Signing in and account safety
Facts checked 25 Oct 2026
There are two ways to sign in to Influence. This guide explains both, which one the Academy suggests, and how to keep your account, and everything in it, safe.
Two ways to sign in
Influence is played in a desktop browser at game.influenceth.io. On the sign-in screen you can choose:
- Influence Account: Sign in with Google or an email address. The game creates a Starknet account for you behind the scenes, so there is nothing to install.
- Your Own Wallet: Connect a Starknet wallet such as Ready X or Braavos. Your wallet asks you to approve the connection, and the game uses your wallet's account.
Which should you use?
Both work for playing the game, but they are separate accounts. Your crews, ships, and SWAY belong to whichever account you used when you got them, so signing in the other way shows a different account. It's simplest to choose one and stick with it.
If you start with an Influence Account and set up your own wallet later, you haven't lost anything: the game includes a migration tool for moving from an Influence Account to a wallet such as Ready X or Braavos.
The Academy suggests signing in with your own wallet. The same account then works everywhere: in the game, on the Training Ground, and on the Academy's My Assets pages. If you haven't set one up yet, see Creating a Starknet wallet.
Signing in, step by step
- On a computer, go to game.influenceth.io. Bookmark it, and use the bookmark from now on.
- Choose how to sign in: your wallet, or Influence Account with Google or email.
- If you chose your wallet, it opens and asks you to approve the connection. Check that the request comes from game.influenceth.io, then approve it.
- You're in. The first time, the game takes you to its launcher, where you'll find Play, Store, Missions, and more.
Keeping your account safe
Most accounts are lost to tricks, not hacking. These habits protect you from nearly all of them:
- Protect Your Sign-In: If you use Google or email, give that account a strong password of its own and turn on two-step verification. If you use a wallet, keep your recovery phrase on paper and never type it into any website.
- Use Official Links: Start from your bookmark, not from links in messages, adverts, or search results. A familiar logo or name doesn't prove a site is genuine.
- Read Before You Approve: When your wallet or the game asks you to confirm something, check what it does, who it goes to, how much it costs, and what access it gives. If you don't understand a request, don't approve it.
- Beware of "Helpful" Strangers: Nobody genuine will ever ask for your password, a sign-in code, or your recovery phrase, not even someone who says they're from Influence support. Messages offering help out of the blue are a common scam.
- Share Access, Not Accounts: When you work with other players, use the game's permissions and agreements to give them only the access they need. Never hand over your account itself, and review what you've shared when the arrangement ends.
If something goes wrong
If you think your Google or email account has been taken over, use that provider's official account recovery straight away. If your wallet's recovery phrase may have been seen by someone else, treat the wallet as no longer safe: set up a new one and move what you can to it as soon as possible. For questions about the game, ask the community in the official Influence Discord, and remember that genuine helpers there will never ask for your secrets.
Connecting to the Academy
The Academy's Connect Wallet button only ever reads your wallet's address, so it can show your crews, asteroids, and ships. It will never ask you to approve a payment or sign anything else, and it will never ask for your recovery phrase. Always check that you are on adalia.academy before connecting.
